Testers for the Japanese beta of Home will be able to access a virtual arcade jam-packed with Namco’s classic titles. It’s all the fun of arcade games without the flaccid, beaten joysticks, the beer-stained panels and the blue stench of stale cigarettes and impending eviction!

E3’s done, the circus animals have been packed up, the fairgrounds are abandoned and nobody knew that an irritable game reviewer from Australia had played the most important role of all. Nobody was with him when he died.
Actually, Yahtzee’s alive and well and as curmudgeonly as ever. This week, he goes over E3’s offerings.

TRUFAX: Jewel cases and boxes for reduced-price “Greatest Hits” have been sinfully ugly since the 32-bit era of gaming. The PSOne was the worst offender with its screaming flu-snot green sidebar. “HEY I’M FINAL FANTASY VII, BUY ME AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME!!”
Today, Sony launches the Playstation 3’s Greatest Hits line. Doth […]

We’re all looking forward to Bionic Command Rearmed. If you’re not, go stand in the corner. I’ll paddle you later (yes, I promise).
Wondering what the game’s atmosphere is going to be like? Thinking Bionic Commando Rearmed is going to usher yet another re-invention of a retro franchise for a more “grown-up” crowd?

Playback, which is Yahoo’s gaming news depository (everyone has one) has a small video feature about rock star relationships with Guitar Hero and Rock Band. It is interesting because it also reveals which band still refuses to be featured on the digital stage.

In the 8 and 16-bit era of video gaming, there was a lot of cloak-and-dagger business going on behind Mario’s big jolly facade and Sonic’s confident smirk.

Holly from “Feministe” made a post about Titan Studios’ upcoming Fat Princess titled, Well, That Was Bound To Happen.
Exactly what was “bound to happen” depends on your outlook on the premise of Fat Princess. Holly is referring to Fat Princess being the catalyst for a flood of fat-hating games now that Titan has made […]

Are you tired of relying on your “Born to Roam” wolf shirts to get you laid? Do you want something that the chicks will find equally irresistible? Well dust off the condom in your wallet because you’re about to earn the chance to buy Capcom’s Mega Man 9 T-shirt.
Really though, this is the shirt that […]

A whole lot of us gamer-types are afflicted by motion sickness–or as it’s more correctly known when it’s game-induced, simulator sickness.
Call it what you want; either way it’s a big green bitch. Being prone to massive problems myself, I penned an article about the affliction for What They Play.

Looking at that Age of Mythology banner on the photo of the LA Convention Center reminded me of the days of my Internet youth. I was a big fan of RatherGood and b3ta, which pretty much affirms I am indeed brain-damaged.
Anyway, when Norse warriors die, they go from Age of Mythology to halal donair […]
