PS3 Will Break Even In Summer
Game companies are well-known—perhaps notorious—for selling their consoles at a loss in hopes that software sales will pick up the slack. That business practise is getting a little foggier these days, what with consoles doing a lot more than exclusively playing games.
The Playstation 3 has been pretty bad about hemorrhaging money, but according to important people in the field of analysis (Nikko Citigroup), that might be changing soon. Sony has done well in reducing the manufacturing cost of the Playstation 3, meaning that the company might see a profit on its system by August.
Or maybe there will be another price drop for consumers. That would solicit a thumbs-up from me. Do it, Sony. You know you want my patented thumbs-up.
