Grand Theft Auto IV: Do You Care?
Keane Ng over at Kombo.com talks about his apathy towards the Grand Theft Auto series and what Grand Theft Auto IV is doing to make him excited.
I’m still unsure if I care about Grand Theft Auto anything. When I played GTA III, it made me terribly motion sick and I just never bothered with any of the games after that. The camera is very loose and free-swinging, and just thinking about it makes me want to upchuck.
I wonder if Grand Theft Auto IV will have a friendly camera for us motion-sick pussies. I find 3D Japanese games are generally far easier to stomach, so to speak, because the population is more prone to motion sickness so developers programme cameras more carefully.
But I’m also not exposed to GTA through outside means. My husband doesn’t play it, and he recently figured out why: Having been the victim of theft in the past, he doesn’t necessarily want to steal shit from other people, even if they’re made up people.
So Grand Theft Auto 4 will probably be getting a miss in our house. Not as if I don’t have a half-tonne of other crap to play.
