So my next game is going to be Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for a number of reasons. First of all, the game’s supposed to be somewhere between halfway decent and awesome. I’ll settle if it’s somewhere in the middle of the middle: “Pretty Rad” sounds okay. I’m easy-going.
I’m really nostalgic for Final Fantasy VII. […]

My latest feature for 1UP was subject to a billion delays and almost got lost in the limbo of the editorial queue, but it’s finally live and looking grand.
Are You Gonna Finish That? explores the billions of reasons why gamers today don’t tend to finish what they start. It seems as if we all have […]

Kombo.com has a great feature acknowledging a little fact the rest of us are half-ignoring: The Playstation 2 is alive and well. It’ll be some time before its spark dies (’Til the Day All Are One, etc).
The Playstation 2 is small. It’s affordable. It’s–well, I don’t want to say “hardy”, ’cause it’s not. Regardless, I […]

Dead Fantasy II has come into the world, featuring the chicks from Dead or Alive versus Final Fantasy. I’m not much for gratuitous game-girly fights, but oh man there’s just no denying how well done this is for a fan-made movie.

News of new Sonic the Hedgehog games instinctively make me cringe and throw up my arms in self-defence. The recent news about Sonic Unleashed is no different. Why do I keep falling for this little piece of blue barf? I think the last Sonic game I enjoyed in any capacity was Sonic Adventure 2, and […]

To absolutely no one’s great surprise, Metal Gear Solid 4 will have a special edition release. You’ll find Making Of DVDs, interviews with director Hideo Kojima, a MGS4 graphic novel preview, an imported soundtrack CD, a clean hooker, a metal case, an artbook—Oh, and I suppose the game will be somewhere in thereabouts, too.
Kombo.com has […]

Over at Ironic Gamer, there’s a trailer for Viking: Battle For Asgard. The languid voice of the narrator is something else. He’s really not impressed by the thought of commanding armies of dragons and giants.
“War is Hell. Live it. Elma, have you seen my keys—oh, here they are by the tea kettle.”

I haven’t lived at home in years, but I can bet that right now my mother is channel surfing between three showings of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Today’s a day off in Ontario. Everything’s closed, as is my motivation to work.
So here’s another amusing, relevant pic that my husband mined for me:
Okay, Sony’s learned some lessons over […]

Kombo.com has put up new screenshots for the upcoming Prince Caspian game. Looks like scenes from the battle near the end of the book. Sorry–the battle that will doubtlessly be near the end of the movie.
I should apologise up front: I’ve been a Narnia nerd since I was 10 or so. I know this […]

Once in a while I regain confidence that Sony knows what it’s doing.
I personally love this ad because (to be honest) I don’t enjoy online gameplay very much. I never last at MMORPGs. My brother’s still telling me to get the hell on Halo 3 multiplayer. I’ve always been that kid who brings home reportcards […]
