Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Square-Enix has been milking the hell out of the Final Fantasy VII franchise (yet denying us a PS3 remake) in honour of FF VII’s tenth birthday. Most of the subsequent spin-off games and movies are kay-rap; even Final Fantasy: Advent Children was more befuddling than cool.
Still, I kind of like the ethereal presence Zack maintains throughout Final Fantasy VII, so I’m looking forward to Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP. As it so happens, Advanced Media Network has some new screenshots. Hooray!
Looking at some of these and knowing Zack’s role in Final Fantasy VII, I feel compelled to tell him to run the hell away and leave SOLDIER before Cloud touches his identity in funny ways.
Looks like Crisis Core will come Stateside on March 25 of two-thousand and eight. Not in time for Christmas. See what happens when you’re bad? Santa makes us all suffer.

Man, I don’t even know. At this point, FF7 and all its characters has become nasty and unclean for me, thanks to the completely soulless and unapologetic whoring. If they made a remake now, I don’t think I could even suffer through it.

FF VII’s cast was more or less ruined for me by Advent Children. For all of the flaws in FF VII’s story, I like the fact that the ending was at least ambiguous; you really had no idea if the Planet chose to spare the human race or not. Well, guess what! It did! Just don’t expect any explaination, philosophy or fanfare. There’s angst, though. Plenty of angst.
