Sony Chairman says Sucks to the Wii
Sony’s chairman, Howard Stringer, is feeling a lot more chipper these days thanks to the Playstation 3’s rising sales numbers. He believes Sony’s behemoth will prove itself with titles that are “infinately more fun” than anything the Wii has to offer (the thrill you felt playing Super Mario Galaxy was a dirty lie, people).
The Guardian article also describes some of Sony’s ideas for the Playstation 3 now that a much-needed price drop has helped the system stagger to its feet and shake the dirt off its head. The well-publicised shortage of the Wii has also helped make the Playstation 3 more appealing to weary Christmas shoppers.
“We’ve some catching up to do, but at least we have the opportunity to connect the PS3 with the PlayStation Portable and beyond,” Stringer says. Speaking of Nintendo, it might have some advice on the idea of linking handhelds with consoles (specifically, “It’s a rough and thankless road, babes”).
