PS3: omg hax
The PS3 is arguably the most powerful game system available on the market today. Depressing fact: Game developers haven’t really harnessed its power, but hackers sure have.
Game|Life has the story. “A network of PS3s can crack an eight-character password in a few days, whereas other computers might take weeks. Higher-end computers can achieve the same result, but, [network security researcher] Breese points out, cost a great deal more and aren’t readily available on a Toys R Us shelf.”
The PS3 isn’t exactly comparable to a toy, but for some reason I’m having flashbacks of baking really delicious cookies in the E-Z Bake Oven I had as a kid. It wasn’t sophisticated, but it did its job without swallowing me whole and roasting me (The PSAs all over the TV at the time convinced me the oven was out to kill me).
Toys: Doing Dirty Deeds Since…Well, time immeasurable.
